Medium Chain Triglycerides are shorter than the long-chain triglycerides (LCTs), which means that they are broken down and absorbed into the body a lot faster. MCTs, unlike the LCTs, go straight into your liver, where they are available to be used as an instant energy source or turned into ketones. A ketone is a substance produced when the liver breaks down a large amount of fat.
Due to the nature of the MCTs, they are less likely to be stored as fat.
